Jadetaw Government Middle School
In many cases, Studer Trust is given the opportunity to work with schools a second time. When follow-up projects are requested by existing Studer Trust schools, the project is assessed based on a few crucial criteria:
Has the school shown cooperation with the follow up program?
Is there a fundamental need for the new project?
Which grade levels are the currently teaching?
Is it a suitable location?
To what extent is the surrounding community able to participate in the implementation, either via monetary, material or labour donations?
Jadetaw Government Middle School is one such school that Studer Trust has proudly partnered with for a second time. Jadetaw Government Middle School is located 9 km southwest of the famous Ngapali beach town in Rakhine State. Our first project with Jadetaw Government Middle School was in 2008, when we supported the construction of a building contain 5 classrooms and 4 sanitary toilets. During that construction, Studer Trust also witnessed transportation difficulties from the surrounding villages that the school served. So, as an additional endeavor, Studer Trust helped to construct a bridge to connect to the outside villages and the nearest town. The community was extremely grateful. Later on, however, the school expanded the number of grades and students it taught and struggled to provide adequate and safe educational spaces for this new influx. They sought Studer Trust’s help to build another building.
Despite their attempts to comply with the initial assessment criteria, there was one glaring problem—the location lacked a suitable space to build a new learning space. Promptly, the community came together to discuss possible solutions, ultimately deciding to purchase the plot of land next to the existing campus. As with many of our communities, the money to do so was provided in large part by donations, once again demonstrating the generosity that is so engrained in Myanmar culture. After a year of sorting out the details, they were finally able to return to Studer Trust with a viable location for an additional structure. We were both excited for the school and proud to see this community collaboration.
In January 2020, the team conducted a groundbreaking ceremony of the new school building and construction promptly began in February 2020. The building itself, a 2-story building with 4 classrooms and 40 desk spaces, took only a month to finish. This left only the painting and final touches to complete. However, when the first COVID-19 cases appeared, finalization has been postponed until the situation allowed.
What followed was, and continues to be, a difficult year for Myanmar. We have seen several waves of COVID-19 and are now undergoing the current political unrest. All meaning that the school is still awaiting its final coat of paint before it can officially open its doors. In the meantime, the school’s committee and Studer Trust have been diligent, able to fence off the grounds and install electricity. We are currently working on ways to collaborate with local suppliers to be able to take the last necessary steps for the school to start using the new facilities. Despite the tough challenges we are facing, we are confident that with the help of our communities, we will continue to overcome obstacles to help schools like this all over Myanmar.

ဂျိတ်တောအစိုးရ အလယ်တန်းကျောင်းသည် Studer Trust အနေနှင့် ဒုတိယအကြိမ်မြောက် ဂုဏ်ယူစွာ လက်တွဲလုပ်ဆောင်ဖြစ်သည့် ကျောင်းဖြစ်ပါသည်။ ဂျိတ်တောအစိုးရ အလယ်တန်းကျောင်းသည် ရခိုင်ပြည်နယ်အတွင်းတည်ရှိသည့် နာမည်ကျော် ငပလီကမ်းခြေမြို့ အနောက်တောင်ဘက် ၉ကီလိုမီတာအဝေးတွင် တည်ရှိပါသည်။ ဂျိတ်တောအစိုးရ အလယ်တန်းကျောင်းနှင့် ပထမဦးဆုံး ပရောဂျက်အား လက်တွဲလုပ်ဆောင်ဖြစ်သည်မှာ ၂၀၀၈ ခုနှစ်က ဖြစ်ပြီး စာသင်ခန်း(၅)ခန်းနှင့် သန့်စင်ခန်း(၄)ခန်းပါဝင်သည့် အဆောက်အအုံတစ်ခု ထောက်ပံ့တည်ဆောက်ပေးခဲ့ခြင်းဖြစ်ပါသည်။ ၎င်း အဆောက်အအုံတည်ဆောက်နေသည့် အတောအတွင်း စာသင်ကျောင်းမှ သင်ကြားပေးလျက်ရှိသည့် ပတ်ဝန်းကျင်ရှိ ရွာများမှ စာသင်ကျောင်းဆီသို့ လမ်းပန်းဆက်သွယ်ရေးအခက်အခဲရှိသည်ကို Studer Trust အနေနှင့် မျက်မြင်ကိုယ်တွေ့ သိရှိခဲ့ရပါသည်။ ထို့အတွက်ကြောင့် Studer Trust သည် အနီးဆုံး မြို့နှင့် ရွာများအပြင်ဘက်နေရာမျာဆီ တံတားတစ်စင်းသွယ်တန်း တည်ဆောက်ရန် ကူညီပေးခဲ့ပါသည်။ ပတ်ဝန်းကျင်မှ ပြည်သူလူထုများက အလွန်ဝမ်းသာပီတိဖြစ်ခဲ့ကြရပါသည်။ ၎င်းနောက်တွင် စာသင်ကျောင်းအနေဖြင့် သင်ကြားသည့် ကျောင်းသားအရေအတွက်နှင့် အတန်းအရေအတွက် တိုးချဲ့နိုင်ခဲ့သော်လည်း အသစ်ရောက်ရှိလာသည့် ကျောင်းသားထုအား လုံခြုံစိတ်ချရပြီး ပြည့်စုံလုံလောက်သည့် စာသင်ကြားမှုနေရာပေးနိုင်ရန် အခက်အခဲရှိနေဆဲဖြစ်ပါသည်။ စာသင်ကျောင်းတာဝန်ခံများအနေနှင့် ကျောင်းဆောင်အသစ်တည်ဆောက်ရာတွင် အကူအညီပေးရန် ကြိုးပမ်းတောင်းခံခဲ့ပါသည်။
ကနဦး ချင့်ချိန်မှု လိုအပ်ချက်အရ စာသင်ကျောင်းဘက်မှ လိုက်လျောရန် အားထုတ်ကြိုးပမ်းမှုရှိစေကာမူ တည်နေရာဒေသအရ စာသင်ကြားမှုနေရာအသစ်တည်ဆောက်ရန် သင့်လျော်သည့် နေရာမရှိသည့် အခြားသိသာထင်ရှားသော ပြဿနာတစ်ခုရှိခဲ့ပါသည်။ မဆိုင်းမတွဘဲ ပတ်ဝန်းကျင်ပြည်သူလူထုသည် ဖြစ်နိုင်မည့် အဖြေများအတွက် ဆွေးနွေးရန် ညီတူစုဝေးလာခဲ့ပြီး နောက်ဆုံးတွင် စာသင်ကျောင်းဧရိယာဘေးရှိ မြေလွတ်ကိုဝယ်ယူရန် ဆုံးဖြတ်ခဲ့ကြပါသည်။ ပတ်ဝန်းကျင် ပြည်သူ အများအပြားရှိသည့်အနေဖြင့် ထပ်လောင်းပြောရလျှင် မြန်မာ့ယဉ်ကျေးမှုဖြစ်သည့် စေတနာကောင်း ပေးကမ်းစွန့်ကြဲခြင်း အလေ့အထ ကြီးမားသည့်အတွက် ငွေပမာဏအလုံလောက်ကို လှူဒါန်းမှုက အဓိကနေရာကပါဝင်ထောက်ပံ့နိုင်ခဲ့ပါသည်။ အသေးစိတ်အချက်အလက်များကို စီစစ်ပြီး တစ်နှစ်အကြာတွင် စာသင်ကျောင်းတာဝန်ရှိသူများသည် ထပ်တည်ဆောက်မည့် အဆောက်အအုံအတွက် အလားအလာရှိသည့် နေရာနှင့်အတူ Studer Trust ကို တင်ပြနိုင်ခဲ့ပါသည်။ ကျွန်ုပ်တို့အားလုံး စာသင်ကျောင်းအတွက် ရင်ခုန်စိတ်လှုပ်ရှားခဲ့ပြီး ပတ်ဝန်းကျင်က ပြည်သူလူထု၏ ပူးပေါင်းပါဝင်မှုကိုမြင်ရသည့်အတွက် ဂုဏ်ယူခဲ့ကြပါသည်။
၂၀၂၀ခုနှစ် ဇန်နဝါရီလတွင် အဖွဲ့သည် စာသင်ကျောင်း အဆောက်အအုံ အသစ်၏ ပန္နက်ချပွဲကို ကျင်းပနိုင်ခဲ့ပြီး ဖေဖေါ်ဝါရီလတွင် တည်ဆောက်မှုလုပ်ငန်းကို စတင်နိုင်ခဲ့ပါသည်။ အဆောက်အအုံအနေဖြင့် ခုံ(၄၀)ဆံ့ဝင် စာသင်ခန်း (၄)ခန်းပါဝင်သည့် နှစ်ထပ်မြင့်အဆောက်အအုံဖြစ်ပြီး တည်ဆောက်ပြီးမြောက်ရန် အချိန်တစ်လသာကြာမြင့်ခဲ့ပါသည်။ ဆေးသုတ်ရန်နှင့် နောက်ဆုံး အချောသပ်ဖို့ သာကျန်ရှိခြင်းဖြစ်ပါသည်။ သို့သော်လည်း COVID-19 ပထမဆုံးအသုတ် ဖြစ်ပေါ်သည့်အချိန်မှစ၍ အဆုံးသတ် အချောသပ်ရန် လုပ်ငန်းကို အခြေအနေပြန်ပေး ခွင့်ပြုသည့်အချိန်အထိ နောက်ဆုတ်ခဲ့ရပါသည်။
၎င်းနောက်တွင် ကိစ္စရပ်များ ဆက်လက်ဖြစ်ပွားနေပြီး မြန်မာနိုင်ငံအတွက် ခက်ခဲသည့် နှစ်တစ်နှစ်ဖြစ်ခဲ့ပြန်ပါသည်။ COVID-19 လှိုင်းများစွာ အကြိမ်ကြိမ် ဖြစ်ပွားလျက်ရှိပြီး လက်ရှိ နိုင်ငံရေးဆူပူမှုများလည်း ဖြစ်ပျက်လျက်ရှိနေသည်ကို ကျွန်ုပ်တို့ တွေ့မြင်ခဲ့ရပြီးဖြစ်ပါသည်။ ဆိုလိုရင်းမှာ စာသင်ကျောင်းအဆောက်အအုံအသစ်အား တရားဝင်ဖွင့်လှစ်နိုင်ခြင်းမတိုင်မီ နောက်ဆုံးအနေဖြင့် ဆေးသုတ်ရန်အတွက် စောင့်ဆိုင်းနေရပါသည်။ ယခုလို အချိန်ကာလတွင် စာသင်ကျောင်း ကော်မတီအနေဖြင့် မြေပြင်ကို ခြံစည်းရိုးခတ်နိုင်ရန်၊ လျှပ်စစ်မီးသွယ်တန်းနိုင်ရန် ဇွဲရှိစွာ ကြိုးပမ်းလျက်ရှိနေပါသည်။ စာသင်ကျောင်းကို စတင်အသုံးပြုနိုင်ရန် နောက်ဆုံးလိုအပ်သည့်အဆင့်များကို လုပ်ဆောင်နိုင်ဖို့ရာ ဒေသခံ ပစ္စည်းတင်ပို့သူများနှင့် ပူးပေါင်းနိုင်ဖို့ နည်းလမ်းများအပေါ် ကျွှန်ုပ်တို့ လက်ရှိ လုပ်ဆောင်လျက်ရှိပါသည်။ ကျွန်ုပ်တို့ ရင်ဆိုင်နေရသည့် အခက်အခဲစိန်ခေါ်မှုများ ရှိစေကာမူ ပတ်ဝန်းကျင် ပြည်သူလူထုများ၏ အကူအညီဖြင့် မြန်မာနိုင်ငံအနှံ့ရှိ စာသင်ကျောင်းများကို ကူညီပြီး အဟန့်အတားများကို ကျွန်ုပ်တို့ ဆက်လက်ကျော်လွန်အောင်မြင် လုပ်ဆောင်နိုင်ဖို့ ကျွန်ုပ်တို့အနေနှင့် ယုံကြည်မှုအပြည့်ရှိပါသည်။
