A New Kindergarten Building at Kwin Thonese School

Kwin Thonese School, about a 4-hour drive north of Mandalay, is a monastic school run by monks free of charge. As such, its operations and finance come in large part from public donations and partnerships with organisations like Studer Trust. In the past, Studer Trust has supported several projects, including new buildings, toilets and sanitation, and a playground.

In the 2019-2020 school year, Kwin Thonese School gave 976 students, including 173 kindergarten students, access to safe and secure buildings in which to learn. For the kindergartners, there were no adequate buildings or playground facilities, and the school had been providing instruction in an existing religious building. With money leftover from previous donor support, Studer Trust collaborated with the school to develop a plan for a 30’ by 27’ building dedicated to kindergarten students. Aided also in part by donations from the school abbot, construction kicked off in 2020 even in the face of COVID-19 obstacles.

The first challenge was presented by the land on which the new building was planned to be built. Much of the grounds were sloping and stony, and the campus quite narrow. Due to the pandemic, it was not possible to bring in outside professional labour. Therefore, the abbot immediately began by coordinating communities to help prepare the land. Parents and young people from nearby places as well as monks and novices from the monastery actively supported in leveling the ground, cleaning the bushes and removing stones. It took a total of three days with five to ten volunteers each day to get the grounds ready. From there, the Studer Trust team was able to instruct a designated crew to develop the building structure.

The new building includes a closed classroom that can hold at least 25 students. Our team is proud to support Kwin Thonese School in this endeavor, and grateful for their collaboration and contribution. Most importantly, the students and community are extremely grateful for the donation of the building and are excited to share how the construction of the project has already positively impacted them.

The abbot noted, “Previously, we taught kindergarten students at poor classrooms and in the religious halls. By receiving this new school building from Studer Trust, we have a much safer and better class condition for our kindergarten students.”

၂၀၁၉-၂၀၂၀ စာသင်နှစ်အတွင်း ကွင်းသုံးဆယ်စာသင်ကျောင်း၏ လုံခြုံစိတ်ချရသည့် ကျောင်းအဆောက်အအုံများအတွင်း သူငယ်တန်းကျောင်းသား ၁၇၃ယောက် အပါအဝင် ကျောင်းသား စုစုပေါင်း ၉၇၆ယောက် စာသင်ကြားခွင့် ရရှိခဲ့ပါသည်။ သူငယ်တန်းကျောင်းသားများအတွက် လုံလောက်သော ကျောင်းအဆောက်အအုံ၊ ကစားကွင်းများ မရှိဘဲ လက်ရှိ ဘာသာရေးအဆောက်အအုံအတွင်းတွင် ညွှန်ကြားပြသမှုများ ပြုလုပ်လျက်ရှိနေပါသည်။ ယခင် အလှူရှင်မှ လှုုဒါန်းခဲ့သည့် ထောက်ပံ့ငွေ လက်ကျန်ဖြင့် သူငယ်တန်းကျောင်းသားများအတွက် ရည်မှန်းကာ ပေ ၃၀ x ၂၇ပေ အကျယ်အဝန်းရှိ အဆောက်အအုံသစ်တည်ဆောက်ဖို့ ရည်ရွယ်ပြီး Studer Trust မှ စာသင်ကျောင်းနှင့် ပူးပေါင်း၍ အစီအစဉ်ချမှတ်ခဲ့ပါသည်။ ကျောင်းထိုင်ဘုန်းတော်ကြီးထံမှ အလှူငွေ အကူအညီရယူခဲ့ကာ ဆောက်လုပ်ရေးလုပ်ငန်းစဉ်ကို ၂၀၂၀ ခုနှစ်မှာ စတင်ခဲ့ပြီး ကိုဗစ်-၁၉ ကာလကြောင့် အဟန့်အတားများပင်ရှိခဲ့ပါသည်။

ပထမဦးဆုံး တွေ့ကြုံရသည့် စိန်ခေါ်မှုမှာ အဆောက်အအုံသစ်တည်ဆောက်ရန် လျာထားသည့် မြေနေရာဖြစ်ပါသည်။ မြေနေရာ တော်တော်များများမှာ ကျောက်စရစ်ပေါများကာ တောင်စောင်းနေရာဖြစ်ပြီး ကျောင်းဝင်းနေရာမှာ အတော်အသင့် ကျဉ်းမြောင်းပါသည်။ ကပ်ရောဂါကာလကြောင့် ပြင်ပမှ ကျွမ်းကျင်လုပ်သားများ ခေါ်ယူရန် အခွင့်မသာခဲ့ပါ။ ဤအတွက်ကြောင့် ကျောင်းထိုင်ဘုန်းတော်ကြီးမှ ဒေသခံရပ်ရွာလူထုနှင့် ညှိနှိုင်းပြီး မြေနေရာကို ပြင်ဆင်ရန် ကူညီပေးခဲ့ပါသည်။ ကျောင်းသားမိဘများ၊ ရပ်ရွာ အနီးအနားမှ လူငယ်လူရွယ်များအပါအဝင် ဘုန်းကြီးကျောင်းမှ ဘုန်းတော်ကြီးများ၊ ရဟန်းသာမဏေများက မြေညှိခြင်း၊ ခြုံရှင်းခြင်းနှင့် ကျောက်စရစ်များဖယ်ရှားခြင်း ပြုလုပ်ရာတွင် တက်ကြွစွာ ပါဝင် ပံ့ပိုးကူညီခဲ့ကြပါသည်။ ထိုကဲ့သို့ ပြုလုပ်ခြင်းမှာ ၃ရက်ကြာမြင့်ခဲ့ပြီး မြေနေရာ အဆင်သင့်ဖြစ်ရန် တစ်ရက်လျှင် လုပ်အားပေး ငါးယောက်မှ ဆယ်ယောက်အထိ လုပ်ဆောင်ခဲ့ရပါသည်။

ကျောင်းအဆောက်အအုံအသစ်တွင်ကျောင်းသား ၂၅ ယောက်ခန့် ဝင်ဆံ့သည့် စာသင်ခန်းတစ်ခန်း ပါဝင်ပါသည်။ ယခုလို ကြိုးပမ်းမှုတွင် Studer Trust အနေဖြင့် ကွင်းသုံးဆယ်စာသင်ကျောင်းအား ပါဝင်ပံ့ပိုးရသည့်အတွက် ဂုဏ်ယူမိကာ စာသင်ကျောင်းသားမိဘများ၊ ကျောင်းနေ ဘုန်းတော်ကြီးများ နှင့် ရပ်ရွာလူထု၏ ပူးပေါင်းကြိုးပမ်းအားထုတ်မှုအတွက် အထူးဝမ်းမြောက် ကျေးဇူးတင်မိပါသည်။

အဓိက ပဓာန အနေဖြင့် အဆောက်အအုံသစ် လှုုဒါန်းမှုအတွက် ကျောင်းသားများနှင့် ရပ်ရွာလူထုမှာ အလွန်အမင်း ဝမ်းမြောက် ပီတိဖြစ်ကြပြီး ၎င်းဆောက်လုပ်မှုသည် မိမိတို့အပေါ် ကောင်းကျိုးသက်ရောက်မှု မည်မျှအထိ ရှိခဲ့ကြောင်း မျှဝေရန် စိတ်အားတက်ကြွခဲ့ကြပါသည်။
