Another Studer Trust Success Story

When Ta Tine Shae Monastic School, located approximately 25km from Mandalay, was established in 1993 there were 50 students ages 5-9 with only 3 monks to support teaching and without the funds to hire new teachers. The majority of the students at Ta Tine Shae Monastic School were living in poverty, and the school itself was funded off of kind donations from the public and run free of charge. At that time, there were no proper school buildings and only religious buildings were being used as classrooms.

Studer Trust first began working with the school in 2005, when they saw the need to build an additional 45’ by 23’ structure to build proper facilities that would accommodate multiple grades in a designated space.

Studer Trust has continued to have a close relationship not only with Ta Tine Shae Monastic School, but also with its students. One in particular, Zin Maw Aye, is a great example of Studer Trust’s belief that long term support of students and schools can be exponentially beneficial.

Zin Maw Aye completed her primary school at Ta Tine Shael and has a long history with the community. After graduating from a local government high school, the abbott of Ta Tine Shae recommended her as a prime candidate for a Studer Trust scholarship given her outstanding academic performances and need for financial support.

With this scholarship, Studer Trust supported not only her school fees, but also covered other school-related costs such as uniform and stationary. With this help, Zin Maw Aye graduated with a Bachelor in Business Science in 2016. Throughout all of her education, she also witnessed first-hand the difference made with Studer Trust’s projects and has been volunteering there as much as possible since 2010. Currently, she teachers Myanmar and English subjects. At the same time, Studer’s work with the school has evolved, and Zaw Maw Aye has very much been a part of our ongoing projects. We’d love to share how Studer Trust and community leaders have supported the Ta Tine Shae Monastic School throughout the years Here are a few ways we have supported since our first partnership in 2005.

2008: With the recommendations of the Abbot and due to demand, expanded to 200 students and increased

schooling to grade 7 (12+) under the administration of 6 teachers.

2011: Due to the increased number of students, Studer Trust donated two additional 45’x23’ structures.

2012: Local people realized that the school was still struggling for classroom management and donated a school

building in the same style and structure as the building originally donated by Studer Trust.

2014: Government installed electric power to the school.

2015: A teacher donated a 27’x27’ building for an additional class.

2016: A local group donated a 60’x30’ building, Sprout Foundation conducted an English progamme and an Abbot

and parents constructed a community playground.

The school currently provides education to 786 students ages 5-13 and employs 25 teachers. Throughout this process, Studer Trust has also given scholarships to students attending Ta Tine Shae Monastic School just as we have done for Zin Maw Aye. This is a great example of how Studer Trust can collaborate with communities to encourage, support and inspire self-initiative.

In a recent conversation, the school’s abbot remarked “Studer Trust encouraged me to keep on developing and successful school” and current teacher U Thiha said “No doubt, our school cannot be achieved at these levels without Studer Trust’s support and local well-wishers.” Most importantly, Zin Maw Aye, looks back at her experience and is “grateful that those students who have financial difficulties like her can dream to achieve their educational goal to create their better lives.”

မန္တလေးမြို့နှင့် ၂၅ ကီလိုမီတာအကွာမှာရှိသည့် တတိုင်းရှည်ဘုန်းတော်ကြီးသင်စာသင်ကျောင်းကို ၁၉၉၃ တွင် စတင်တည်ထောင်စဉ်အခါက အသက် ၅နှစ်မှ ၉နှစ်အထိ ကျောင်းသား အယောက်၅၀နှင့် စာသင်ဘုန်းကြီး ၃ပါးသာရှိခဲ့သည်။ ဆရာအသစ်များ ခေါ်ယူရန် ရန်ပုံငွေလည်း မရှိခဲ့ပါ။ တတိုင်းရှေ့စာသင်ကျောင်းရှိ ကျောင်းသားအများစုသည် ဆင်းရဲနွမ်းလျသော မိသားစုများမှဖြစ်ပြီး စာသင်ကျောင်းသည် ပြည်သူများ၏ အလှူငွေများဖြင့် ရပ်တည်ရပြီး ပညာသင်ကြေး မပေးရသည့် ကျောင်းတစ်ကျောင်း ဖြစ်သည်။ ထိုအချိန်တွင် ကျောင်းအဆောက်အဦး ကောင်းကောင်းမွန်မွန် မရှိပဲ ဘာသာရေးဆိုင်ရာ အဆောက်အဦးများကိုသာ စာသင်ခန်းများအဖြစ် အသုံးပြုခဲ့ရသည်။

Studer Trust သည် ဤကျောင်းနှင့် ၂၀၀၅ ခုနှစ်တွင် စတင်လက်တွဲလုပ်ကိုင်ခဲ့သည်။ သီးသန့်နေရာတစ်ခုတည်းတွင် အတန်းပေါင်းများစွာမှ ကျောင်းသားများကို စာသင်ကြားပေးနိုင်ရန် ၄၅ ပေ ၂၃ ပေ နေရာတစ်ခုတွင် စာသင်ကျောင်းဆောင်တစ်ခု ထပ်မံတည်ဆောက်ရန် လိုအပ်နေသည်ကို တွေ့ရှိခဲ့သည်။

Studer Trust သည် စာသင်ကျောင်းနှင့်သာမက ကျောင်းသားဟောင်းများနှင့်ပါ ရင်းနှီးမှုကို ဆက်လက်ထိန်းသိမ်းခဲ့သည်။ ကျောင်းသူဟောင်းတစ်ဦးဖြစ်တဲ့ မဇင်မာအေးသည် စာသင်ကျောင်းနှင့်ကျောင်းသားများကို ကြာရှည်စွာထောက်ပံ့ပေးခြင်းဟာ အကျိုးဖြစ်ထွန်းမှုဖြစ်စေသည်ဟုဆိုသည်။ ထိုစကားသည် Studer Trust ၏ ယုံကြည်မှုအတွက် ဥပမာကောင်းတစ်ခုဖြစ်သည်။

၂၀၁၂ - ဒေသခံများက စာသင်ကျောင်းသည် စာသင်ခန်းထိန်းချုပ်မှုနှင့် ပတ်သက်ပြီး အခက်အခဲတွေ့နေသည်ကို သိရှိပြီး Struder

Trust က ကနဦး လှူဒါန်းထားသည့် အဆောက်အအုံပုံစံအတိုင်း နောက်ထပ် အဆောက်အအုံတစ်ခုကို ထပ်မံတည်ဆောက်လှူ

ဒါန်းခဲ့ကြသည်။

၂၀၁၄ - အစိုးရက စာသင်ကျောင်းတွင်း လျှပ်စစ်မီး တပ်ဆင်ခဲ့သည်။

၂၀၁၅ - ဆရာတစ်ယောက်က နောက်ထပ် စာသင်ခန်းတစ်ခုအတွက် ၂၇ စတုရန်းပေ အဆောက်အအုံကို လှူဒါန်းခဲ့သည်။

၂၀၁၆ - ဒေသခံအဖွဲ့တစ်ခုက ပေ ၆၀ ပေ ၃၀ အကျယ် အဆောက်အအုံတစ်ခုကို လှူဒါန်းခဲ့သည်။ Sprout Foundation မှ အင်္ဂလိပ်စာ

အစီအစဉ်တစ်ခုကို စတင်ခဲ့ပြီး ကျောင်းထိုင်ဆရာတော်နှင့် ကျောင်းသားမိဘများမှ ကစားကွင်းတစ်ခု တည်ဆောက်ပေးခဲ့

သည်။

လက်ရှိတွင် အသက် ၅နှစ်မှ ၁၃နစ်အထိ ကျောင်းသားပေါင်း ၇၈၆ ယောက်ကို ဆရာ၊ဆရာမ ၂၅ ယောက်ဖြင့် စာသင်ကြားပေးလျက်ရှိပါသည်။ မဇင်မာအေးကဲ့သို့ပဲ တတိုင်းရှေ့မှ ကျောင်းသားများကို ပညာသင်ဆုများလည်း ထောက်ပံ့ခဲ့ပါသည်။ Studer Trust သည် လူစုအသိုင်းဝိုင်းများဖြင့် ပူးပေါင်းကာ ကိုယ်ထူကိုယ်ထ စိတ်ဓာတ်ကို ဖွံ့ဖြိုးပေးနိုင်သည်မှာလည်း အခြာအဖွဲ့အစည်းများအတွက် ဥပမာကောင်းတစ်ခုလည်းဖြစ်ပါသည်။

လက်တလောတွင် စာသင်ကျောင်း၏ ကျောင်းထိုင်ဘုန်းကြီးက “Studer Trust က ကိုယ်တွေရဲ့ကျောင်းကို ပိုပြီး ဖွံ့ဖြိုးဖို့၊ အောင်မြင်အောင်လုပ်ဖို့ အားပေးအားမြှောက်လုပ်ပေးပါတယ်။” ဟု မိန့်ကြားထားသည်။ လက်ရှိကျောင်းဆရာ ဦးသီဟကလည်း “Studer Trust နှင့် ဒီက အသိုင်းအဝိုင်းတွေရဲ့အားပေးထောက်ပံ့မှုမပါပဲ ကျနော်တို့ကျောင်း ဒီအဆင့်ထိရောက်မလာနိုင်တာတော့ အသေအချာပဲ” ဟု ပြောထားသည်။ အရေးကြီးဆုံးအနေဖြင့် မဇင်မာအေးကတော့ သူမလိုပဲ ငွေကြေးအခက်အခဲရှိသော ကျောင်းသားများသည် သူတို့ဘဝကောင်းမွန်ဖို့ ပညာရေးရည်မှန်းချက်များကို ဖြည့်တင်းဖို့အခွင့်အရေးရှိသည်ကို အရမ်းကျေးဇူးတင်ဝမ်းမြောက်ကြောင်း ပြောသည်။
